Buttermilk Waffles with Vanilla Brown Sugar Syrup

You can't have too many waffle recipes, can you? I could probably fill up a whole binder just with waffle recipes. These are absolutely delicious! Another keeper. The waffles are tender and have a slight cinnamon flavor. And, the syrup is awesome too! Combined, you get a delicious brown sugar flavor.

Waffle Recipe: Sister's Cafe

Buttermilk Waffles
1 stick butter, melted
2 cups flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
3 large eggs
2 cups buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat waffle iron. Beat eggs until fluffy. Beat in everything else just until smooth.

Vanilla Brown Sugar Syrup

Recipe: Joy The Baker

1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups water
3 Tablespoon unsalted butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine brown sugar, water, butter, and salt in a 2-quart heavy saucepan and bring to a oil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Boil until syrupy and reduced to about 1 1/2 cups, about 12-15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and vanilla, then let cool to warm or room temperature
