Buttercream Frosting

This is the basic buttercream frosting recipe from Wilton.

1 cup shortening
1 tsp flavoring (almond, butter, etc.)
1 lb. (4 cups) powdered sugar
1 TBSP meringue powder
2 TBSP water

Mix together until smooth. I always end up putting more water in. It depends on the temperature outside and what you need the icing for. Just keep adding water 1 tsp. at a time until you get the consistency you need. You can add coloring too.
