Granola

This recipe came from my mom. Not sure where she got it from. It's a family favorite.

Granola:
7 cups quick oats
1 cup coconut
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup powdered milk
1 cup soy nuts (I used halved cashews instead)

Syrup:
1 cup honey or karo syrup (may need more - I used 3/4 c honey & 1/4 c karo syrup)
1 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix granola ingredients in a large bowl. Mix the syrup ingredients in a small bowl and pour over granola mixture until coated. Spread mixture out onto large pan or two cookie sheets and bake at 270 degrees for 15 minutes.

Let granola cool. Once cooled, add any other ingredients you prefer. (M&M's, chocolate chips, rice krispies, raisins, dried fruit, marshmallows, peanut butter, etc.) Mix everything together & enjoy!
